Yesteryear Collection



The Southern Railway played a crucial role during the Second World War transporting the British Expeditionary Force, supporting the Dunkirk evacuation, and later supplying Operation Overlord in 1944. Its success was all the more remarkable given that it was designed chiefly as a passenger network.
